Nowadays, many people are accustomed to fast food. Due to its convenience and affordability, the demand for fast food is greater. In this essay, I will outline the drawbacks of this trend, including health issues, which are, in my opinion, far more outweigh the provided advantages.
Fast food offers several facilities, which makes the demand greater. The main benefit is that fast food being prepared in a short time, and it’s not required more effort and time. It is beneficial for individuals who struggle with the lack of free or extra time to prepare the meal. Additionally, there are special delivery systems and apps, which makes the process faster and easier. Another major advantage is the affordable price, which allow individuals who have troubles with finances to buy and eat. For example, young people, especially students, prefer consuming fast food because of the economic side and the delicious tastes.
However, despite provided benefits of access to fast food, there are far more significant disadvantages that cannot be ignored. The biggest weakness is that consuming fast food leads to obesity and other health issues. Fast food contains a high amount of calories, which makes the digestion process more difficult, as a result of that the image of proper nutrition of men is destroyed. Furthermore, consumption of a large amount of fast food can adversely affect the health and function of human organs. Because of fatness, many organs can fail in doing their functions properly and contribute to the development of various diseases. For example, high levels of cholesterol, salt and fat lead to increased risk of developing heart and vascular diseases, such as arterial hypertension and heart attack.
In conclusion, fast food is becoming more and more available to people, which demonstrates a wide range of advantages and disadvantages. Despite provided convenience and other merits, the health issues caused by fast food should be prioritized. As a result, the merits of this trend far more outweigh the merits and cannot be ignored.
