Today, people often migrate to another country for work opportunities. It is considered by some that the children of immigrant parents tend to find difficulties, while others think that this opportunity will bring positive impacts for their growth. Although it is true that children might find it hard to adapt to the new life settings, I personally believe it will shape them into better individuals in the long run.
It is true that moving abroad and adapting to the new life environment is not easy. Especially, when a child was forced to leave their home, face new people, and live a different lifestyle. In many cases, children tend to have a hard time adapting to the new life they are living, even trivial matters such as food and weather. For instance, it will be challenging for children from an Asian country to adapt to the harsh winter of Australia. Moreover, as language might be a barrier, communication will be difficult, and they will most likely find it hard to socialize.
Although children will definitely encounter challenges and issues from adapting to their new life in unfamiliar life environment on a young age, an opportunity to live abroad will certainly help fostering their growth. First, children lived in an international setting tend to be more adaptive than others who do not, as they are used to newness and differences. Furthermore, they will gain a global perspective as they socialize with others and therefore, form an international social network. For this reason, this experience will benefit them in the near future as an adult.
In conclusion, while others think that children might suffer due to the unfamiliar surroundings they must live with, I strongly believe that this will boost in their personal growth as a person.
