In this day and age, it has become common increasingly for people, especially the young generation, to have the propensity to buy new items very quickly and throw damaged items away even if it just has a negligible damage. The reasons why some individuals undertake these actions and the effects of this trend are taken into consideration in this essay.
To begin with, thanks to human civilization, people have opportunities to live peaceful lives with great conditions for development and more facilities than in the past. When young people are used living with a higher standard of living for a long time and having financial support from their family, they do not understand how it is difficult to earn income in order to buy new products. For that reason, young people tend to buy new items just to satisfy their lust, even if the old items are broken only a little bit. This trend has caused the phenomenon that young generations nowadays have established ungrateful and disrespectful attitudes, because everything comes to them so easily.
On top of that, the explosion of technology information and social media in the modern day is one of the primary reasons that people tend to buy new items a lot. People, especially young people, are easily enchanted by the glossy of new items that are advertised on social media platforms. For example, when iPhone publishers launch a new version, many people immediately throw the old one away and buy the new version, even though the old one may only have a negligible damage. They just want to keep up with trends and find ways to buy at any cost, and this will cause problems they cannot cover their expenses, because all their income are invested in glossy items, but it is not worth it.
In conclusion, this trend has negatively affected people a lot, but they do not realize it. From my perspective, we need to address this trend as soon as possible.
