Recently, the working style has been changed a lot compared to the past and the company is working on enhancing the employee’s gender equal consideration. I personally believe that this would bring some negative impacts because of unstable female’s working conditions and a higher chance of unemployment well performed males.
First of all, there is a strong stereotype where people think that men should be working and women should only focus on domestic works instead. From my perspective, it is getting better and some companies now trying to employ equal number of women and men. However, although nowadays more men contribute to raising children and doing housework, yet women tend to play a role in heavier percentage. In facts, females are the one who actually give a birth and the physical and mental damage they get is significant. As a results, it is a fair outcome that women potentially have to take a longer parental leave even though they have their husband’s vital support. Therefore, there is more chances women cannot work for a while than men have which makes an enormous difficulty to companies. Moreover it requires company a rapid adaptation and finding alternatives.
Second of all, it is a fact that more men want to get a job than women do. Some women choose not to work and focus on family. Which makes me think that the proportion of men who applied for a job seems higher than women. If the company hire equal number of women and men, there is more chance that women can get hired. Men who has higher skills and potentials might loose the opportunity because the workplace trying to keep the proportion balance. This might let companies lower performance which leads to less profits. I believe it should be considered by the individuals skills rather than gender.
In conclusion, since there is a concern that women are more likely to be required a longer leave which leads to difficult circumstances for companies. Moreover, men might be miss a chance due to balancing the women and men ratio which brings a negative impact on workplace. For these reasons, I think this brings a negative impact.
