In modern society, a number of people prefer to study or work abroad. Although it has some mental drawbacks, jobs abroad offer higher salaries and the learning system is of a better level.
On the one hand, working or studying abroad may cause mental health problems. Laws and social principles in foreign countries differ from those in one’s home country, so people who go there to study or work may feel emotional or mental stress. For example, people who choose to study or work in European countries, such as the United Kingdom, France, or Spain, may face racial discrimination. Since these countries have a majority of immigrants, local society puts pressure on foreign workers or students. Hence, working or studying abroad may lead to mental issues.
On the other hand, foreign countries have jobs with high salaries and learning systems of a better level. As Western countries have a stronger economy, their job sector is well-developed, so workers earn more money than workers in developing countries. Also, foreign countries invest a large amount of money to improve the learning system, therefore students choose to study abroad. For instance, 8 of the strongest universities by QS ranking are located in the United Kingdom and the United States, for this reason students mostly prefer to study in Western countries. Thus, more people choose to study or work abroad.
In conclusion, although working and studying abroad may cause some mental problems due to the social opinions of people, learning and working systems are mostly chosen by people because of their high development and bigger investment.
