In the contemporary world, education systems tend to rely more and more on technology due to its rapid breakthroughs and developments. In this essay, I will analyze both the positive and negative aspects of this trend.
To begin with, technological advances made it possible for students to have a no-limit access to the information; even inhabitats of rural areas may get any knowledge about any subject in the world by simply using internet, due to contemporary innovations, location is no longer an obstacle. Furthermore, modern technology made studying proccess more engaging, fun and interesting to learn; for instance, a wide range of schools all over the globe are implementing video lessons, virtual reality, various 3D models for learning sciences, and so much more.
On the other hand, there are certain drawbacks, technology also serves as a huge distraction; short paced media, vivid videos and a wide range of entertainment available online are affecting students directly. Numerous studies demonstrate that modern students are suffering from being able to focus easily, because of certain activities like doomscrolling in social media. Moreover, majority of online school learners often lack sociolization, thereby they tend to have more deppresive thoughts and are not confident in themselves, comparing to their peers from traditional schools.
In conclusion, even though developments in technology led to serious issues that modern students are significantly affected by, it is also clear that the educational benefits they offer are making the overall impact positive. Thereby, I strongly believe that the advantages of digital tools in education purposes ultimately outweigh their disadvantages.
