To elevate the quality of education, some people think that teachers should be judged and criticised by their students. However, others argue that this will lead to a lack of respectfulness and classroom management. From my perspective, although students’ feedback can encourage teachers to improve and interact more with their students, it can only be effective when applied with clear guidelines.
There are some reasons why many people believe that students should provide critique for their teachers, and the main reason is that teachers can improve their teaching methods.
Such feedback can help students reflect their learning experience, which teachers can consider to adjust the lessons to individual needs. Furthermore, the fact that students can evaluate teachers cultivate create a positive learning environment. When students judge and criticise educators’ teaching strategies, the gap between teachers and students may be bridged. This leads to shared understanding and helps students express their opinion freely in the classroom.
On the other hand, many people think that this will lead to contempt and improper conduct in the classroom. For example, punishments and contact with parents can be an effective approach in the event of a negative, jocular comment towards the staff at school.
In conclusion, although both views are valid, I believe that while students’ feedback can encourage teachers to enhance their teaching methods and interact more with their students, it can only be productive when implemented with defined regulations.
