Today, with the progress in technology, interaction with people has changed. In my opinion, the usage of mobile phones and social media has made the relationships shallow and has had a negative impact on them.
Mobile phones have revolutionized telecommunication. It has made communicating with people easy and accessible and made it possible for us to reach out to our relatives living in distant places with just a click. Communication is further made accessible via the invention of the internet and the social media platform, which has enabled us to call and text our friends and family for free.
Although, the purpose of mobile phones and social media was to help us interact with our loved ones, it has also distanced us from them. The quantity of relationships might have raised but the quality has dropped significantly. Many individuals tend to spend more time on raising the number of friends online and ignoring the ones who actually want the best for you. Therefore, people need to curb the usage of phones and social media and, instead, invest their time on true relationships. In contrast, in the past, the relations were much more deep then they are today.
In conclusion, even though mobile phones and social media have made interacting with people easy but the quality of the interactions has dropped significantly. People should mitigate the use of Instagram and Facebook and instead, allocate some time to physically interact with their significant others instead of focusing on the shallow friendships on the social media.
