More and more foreigners are touring natural places, like rainforests and mountains. This leads to infrastructure development and employment. However, this may also result in overcrowding and fluctuations in employment.
An increasing number of tourists will result in improved infrastrucrture. This is because when the government will become aware that foreigners are touring these natural places then they will build roads in order to attract even more tourists which will also improve the standard of living for locals . In addition to that, increase in number of tourists will lead to increase in employment for locals. People will see this as a business opportunity and build hotels and resturants to serve the tourists which will also provide employment to locals. For instance, someone builds a hotel in Skardu. Now because of this people of Skardu will get employment and would be able to take care of their basic needs.
On the other hand, people will get seasonal employment. Since there is a specific time of the year in which tourists visit these remote areas which means they wont get a permanent solution for their income. For instance, someone works in a hotel in Murree for 5 months and then after that they are made redundant. This is not of great benefit to them as then they would have to find another job. Moreover, when more and more tourists will visit these distant areas then they will become overcrowded which will make it difficult for locals to live over there peacefully as they would have to face chaos, horns etc.
In conclusion, this trend has both advantages as well as disadvantages. Such as, locals will benefit from increased employment as well as improved infrastructure. However, there are fluctuations in employment in these areas which doesnt provide job security to these locals and increase in number of tourists will lead to overcrowding.
