In this modern era, people produce more and more waste. I believe that this happening because of over-packaging. To reduce the amount of trash produced, governments should implement strict rules.
The main reason why individuals produce more and more rubbish is excessive packaging. Companies want their products to look interesting and protect them during transportation to attract buyers. Therefore, they wrap their products in multiple layers of plastic, and after opening it people throw it away. For example, when we order things online, they often arrive in huge boxes filled with plastic.
To solve this problem, governments should make strict laws and high taxes for businesses that produce too much waste. If using plastic packaging become more expensive, less companies would use it. They will have to change their packaging. As a result, companies will start to use another materials to save money. For instance, some governments already banned plastic bags, so people started to use shoppers that can be used several times.
In conclusion, big growth of rubbish is caused by a lot of plastic packaging, which can not be recycled, but it can be easily stopped if governments makes strict rules and high taxes.
