At these days the amount of waste we generating is steadily increasing. This essay will explain the reasons of this trend and then provide practical solutions which can be done by the government to mitigate them.
One key reason why waste production is growing is the widespread use of single-use plastic items. Many people are living a consumerist lifestyle which has led to them buying and consuming more products like food, clothes and home appliances. As a result, more plastic items and packaging is thrown away every day which leads to an increase in waste. One possible solution is to encourage people to use reusable products instead of single-use plastic items, as this can significantly reduce the amount of waste generated. For example, the government could encourage people to use reusable shopping bags by providing discounts to consumers who bring their own bags.
Another major cause of waste production is industrial activities. Factories generate large amount of waste during the manufacturing process because some raw materials cannot be fully used. For instance, food and clothing factories may produce significant amounts of leftover materials that are eventually thrown away. To solve this, the Government should promote reuse of leftover materials by factories or create stricter waste management laws. This is because thrown materials such as plastics or raw materials are affecting the life of some aquatic species like turtles, as they consume plastic materials which can have a negative impact on their health.
In conclusion, due to single-use materials and industrial production, we are producing increasing amounts of waste. I believe that reusable products and reuse of leftover materials can be effective solutions for those reasons
