In the contemporary era, youngsters are being fascinated by celebrities and professional players although they display lack of moral standards for individuals. In my opinion, this is an undesirable change for two key reasons.
One of the primary drawbacks of this trend is that following media regularly can pose a negative influence on behavior. Young people are often inspired by the actions of their role models leading to copy immoral and irresponsible attitudes to them. Sometimes, celebrities break rules and do illegal actions which causes the same behavior is done by their fans. as a result, young people easily believe that it is acceptable because successful people apply it, thereby affecting their personal development.
On an individual level, being fascinated by famous people promotes unrealistic values. Many celebrities are usually admired for their wealth and appearance, with many young people excessively focusing on becoming rich and famous rather than developing their academic knowledge and skills. However, successful athletes always demonstrate their hard work, discipline, and determination to their fields, which can motivate young people to pursue goals without giving up. In many cases, social media presents unrealistic lifestyles since many achievements shown by famous people may be fake. Therefore, this leads to low self-esteem and dissatisfaction among young individuals if their attitudes which are done as celebrities do not work out.
In conclusion, admiring famous people even though they do not set beneficial attitudes has a detrimental impact on the young’s behaviour and that of developing actions to non-achievable values. Thus, I view this development negatively.
