Band 6+: Nowadays young people don't like to spend their weekends or holidays in outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain climbing. Why is it? What can be done to encourage people to engage in outdoor activities?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

These days many young individuals don’t like going outside and trying new activities such as hiking and mountain climbing on weekends or holidays. It is due to the introduction of technology like the internet, mobiles, TV, and other entertainment activities. Advertisements and training at educational institutes can improve the situation.

Young people are getting more and more involved in the entertainment activities. One of the greatest culprits is probably the ease of access to the world through the internet. On weekends and vacations, they prefer to spend most of their time either sleeping or staying online on different social media sites. They like to watch movies, documentaries, dramas, or sports on the internet. For example, Netflix and other OTT plate forms provide access to different series. Moreover, YouTube content creators are encouraged to earn money by uploading videos. Other websites and applications also attract young individuals towards the glories associated with using them. They also don’t take part actively in sports, instead they are circumspect about their mobile phones and video games.

However, advertisements and benefits of healthy activities can be described on these websites. The primary focus must be on improving the overall issue by promoting these activities. Celebrities and sports persons can be hired to evaluate the benefits of outdoor activities. It will be helpful in their character building as many people admire them. Not only can hiring them solve the problem, but they should convey the message in a realistic way and explain the importance. Trending video games like PUBG, Free fire, and various sports related games must also be discouraged to boost these outdoor activities. Educational institutes and parents can provide the necessary steps and develop the mind of kids at a very young age.

In conclusion, the younger generation must be focusing more on day to day tasks and avoiding these habits. There must be a check and balance from the parents to explain the importance of these sports related habits.

In some countries, university education is free for every citizen. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this?

In many parts of the world, some nations tend to provide their citizens with free university education. Eventhough I acknowledge its drawbacks, it is a predominantly positive development. On the one hand, it can promote equal access across all social groups. By removing tuition fees, students from low-income families, who might be deterred by immense […]

Some young people are leaving the countryside to live in cities and towns, leaving only old people in the countryside. Do you think this is a positive or a negative development

According to me, It’s a negative development. in many countries around the world, rural people are moving to cities, so the population in the countryside is decreasing. According to those in the travel business, the nature of the average 'holiday' is changing. Rather than seeking a relaxing break in a far-away place, people now want excitement on their holidays and are keen to participate in unusual and challenging activities. Do you agree or disagree?
