Band 4: One day the world's oil and gas reserves will run out. The search for alternative energy sources like wind power, solar power, burning waste, and water power are causing as much environmental damage as the oil and nuclear power sources they are intended to replace. How far do you agree with this latter statement? What possible benefits do the alternative energy sources bring? OR what damage do they cause? (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

It is true, that conventional energy sources are declining irreversibally and creating sever pollution. So the alternative resources are needed which can be sustainable and more environment friendly. These sorces such as wind power, solar power, water power,and waste burning are better options for various reasons. So I disagree with the given statement.

Talking about alternative resources they cause certain damage to environment by their manufacturing and installation. And if disposed of it unscientifically it can damage to the land. To install wind turbines large area of land is requiered which might come from ny cutting trees or agriculture land. Also lots of bird are killed by being struck with the blade. to setup hydroelectric power station big dam are constructed on river that distroy the natural habitate of aquatic animles and plants. Burning waste can do lot of pollution by emmiting greenhouse gases, if not done in controlled manare.

However, envirnmental damages done by conventional sources far more dangerous than the alternative sources. In extraction and combution of fosilfules release huge amounts of harmfull gases and pollute the enevirnment. In case of nuclear power, the spread of radiation affect the environment and can creat enormus hazzards to living all beings
