Throughout history, humanity has witnessed a large plurality of wars that led them to the mitigation of the population, depression (also known as the Great Depression), and incapability of growing food due to running out natural seeds. To solve this problem, scientists have carried out experiments on a different variety of animals and plants, pioneering the definition of Genetically Modified foods (GMO) in the earlier past. With them, as they believed, real foods could be replaced with ones made of artificial and digital powers, eventually dividing people into a dilemma, in which some believed this invention was a false movement, while others disagreed. Personally, I would not agree with the idea of people consuming GMO more than natural sources, as it would affect them negatively in terms of affection, allergy, and the bad usage of modern technology.
Undoubtedly, technology has improved, bringing new words and systems “that promise to turn out beneficial.” Even though Genetically Modified foods can play a major impact in certain cases, they still should not be normalized as a common way of consumption, since some multitudes may have a side effect from eating Genetically Modified foods, like allergies or infecting reactions that may happen mostly to their faces, leaving a few marks. Instead of preferring artificial-made foods, individuals should continue with eating naturally. Hence, the consumption of genetically modified foods may be hazardous to sensitive skins or those who get sick frequently; this is why the importance of real foods is fundamental.
On the contrary, GMO can act as a “substitute” in hard times. For example, especially during wars, when people cannot have anything to eat, consuming GMO would solve the hunger problems and preserve the connection between people and foods, making them unable to even notice the absence of natural foods, since they taste similarly and comprise the same amount of nutrients inside a certain food. Nevertheless, multitudes should still take the demerits of GMO into account wisely not to then have personal problems. As a result, Genetically Modified foods can aid those who run out of un-artificial foods due to wars or poverty in having a likewise taste without their “stomachs rumbling.”
In conclusion, GMO may have detrimental influences on individuals, along with providing them with nature-free, purely digital foods, while in some cases like wars, they could be considered useful, if not consumed too much.
