With the increase in use of pesticides, fertilizers and other harmful chemicals in conventional farming, organic farming which is a form of regenerative agriculture has gained popularity and has become an important way to save the planet. In my opinion, the advantages of organic farming outweigh the disadvantages. Thus, this essay will talk about how organic farming saves our planet by discussing how its advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
The major disadvantage of organic farming is that it takes a longer time to grow crops as compared to those crops grown by artificial methods. This is because natural products take a longer time to do their job as compared to chemically made products. Consequently, organic products are more expensive that the one which are produced by conventional farming. For example, it takes weeks and even sometimes months to create natural compost from plant based waste. Thus, every person cannot afford organic products because of which they choose the conventional products.
In contrast to the disadvantages, the major advantage of organic farming is that it is a form of regenerative farming. Hence, in organic farming steps are followed in a cyclic pattern so that the amount of waste produced in reduced which in turn reduces pollution. Additionally, regenerative farming ensures that the soil quality, crop quality is maintained with the help of chemical free methods. Furthermore, farmers replace artificial pesticide, fertilizers and other harmful chemicals with natural substitutes. These chemicals can be hazardous to our health. For example, instead of chemical based fertilizers, farmers use cow dung as manure. Thus, organic farming is an eminent strategy to save our planet
In conclusion, organic family is eco-friendly as it causes less pollution. Thus, people are ready to spend some extra money to not only to save the planet but also their health as they are safe for consumption. Therefore, it can be concluded that organic farming, which is a form of regenerative farming, is a prominent way to save our planet
