Throughout the last 100 years, more and more species have become at risk or wiped out completely. The causes of this are largely related to human activity. Therefore, the solutions rely on us taking action and changing our behaviour. This essay will look at the main reasons for the loss of wildlife and propose some possible ways of resolving them.
One major cause of animal extinction is the destruction of animals’ habitats by human for commercial reasons. For example, the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest to make way of agricultural land leaves many animals without a home. As a result, these species have nowhere to breed or find food, and their population will start to decline. Another significant cause is the pollution of our oceans. The plastic that we throw away can end up being washed into rivers and seas, and is often eaten by marine life.This pollution has disrupted the delicate balance of oceanic ecosystems and has led to the decline of numerous marine species.
A possible solution could be for governments to pass laws. These laws could restrict the amount of forest that a country could cut down in a year and punish companies that do not follow them. It is my view that with global cooperation, many of these species can be saved.
