Cause And Solution

Band 7+: Overpopulation in many major urban centers around the world is a major problem. What are the causes of this? How can this problem be solved?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent times, overpopulation has become an overwhelming issue, particularly in urban centers. Currently, it is claimed to be one of the major problem that is aimed to be solved via specific actions. Not only are causes of this discussed in the essay, but also ways of solving it.

To begin with, one of the primary causes of urban overpopulation is economic disparity. Rural areas have both limited employment prospects and inadequate public services, due to uneven development. Much higher salaries and employment diversity are provided in large metropolitan areas, which is also considered to be one of the reasons for migration. Furthermore, these centers usually concentrate education, healthcare and businesses which gives comfort for its inhabitants and motivates others to move.

A key factor in solving this issue is the development of rural areas to decrease inequality between big cities and towns. By investing in local infrastructure and creating sustainable job opportunities outside major cities, governments can discourage excessive migration. In addition, improving urban planning through affordable housing projects, efficient public transport systems, and the development of satellite cities can help cities accommodate growing populations more effectively. Consequently, the role of government is essential in this case as far as most of the causes can be solved by it.

Overall, although overpopulation in major cities is a complex issue, it can be effectively managed through well-planned and long-term strategies. As this problem is largely driven by unequal development and migration from less developed regions, targeted investment in rural areas and balanced urban planning are essential to achieving sustainable population distribution.
