Some people hold the belief that the happiest phase of most people’s lives belongs to their teenage years while others consider adult life as much happier regardless of greater responsibilities. In this essay, I will take both sides into consideration prior to arguing that it depends on each perspective that determines the happiness level.
On the one hand, the emphasis on the teenage years as being the most pleasant is backed up by the following arguments. To elaborate, most teenagers are free from social burdens, with their sole priority being education.Instead of worrying about their complex colleague’s relationships, family members, financial budgets, youngsters only devote time and efforts to their academic performance in educational settings. Consequently, they have ample time and energy for many activities such as playing sports, helping them to derive much entertainment from. Furthermore, juveniles are more inclined to endeavor new things such as sports, games, food, ect. due to their enthusiasm, ample energy and a strong desire to challenge themselves. Having the audacity to venture risky sports, they can ultimately be exposed to a sense of achievement and satisfaction. In contrast, psychologically speaking, the majority of senior citizens are often extremely cautious of those precarious things, resulting in them staying away from those subjects.
On the other hand, there exist logical reasons accounting for the fact that adult life brings more satisfaction irrespective of greater responsibilities. Firstly, they can derive great pleasure from enjoying their hard-earned cash by using it in entertaining sources. Adults often have to work very hard to ensure their stable life and complete many familial responsibilities. Saving enough money deservedly allocated to promote happiness, individuals can partake in their adventurous hobbies to go on a tour to enjoy fresh moments after stressful working hours. Secondly, without constraints of their parents, adults can enjoy the freedom they possess, which can be manifested in the practice of making their own decisions or choosing to marry. They follow their intuition rather than being uncomfortably put under the guidance of parents. This substantially promotes personal autonomy, contributing to the buildup of a life where their desires and values are reflected.
In conclusion, the topic of which phase of life brings more happiness remains a source of constant debate. Personally speaking, it depends on personal outlooks on life that the happiness point is set. There are those looking on the bright side, pinpointing potential benefits linked to any situations in their lives, positively perceiving that each scenario conveys a lesson that they can fully appreciate. However, some are easily down in the dumps despite confronting trivial negative things.
