Paying taxes is one of the major concerns of people nowadays. Some are bothered to where did their government fees went, or how did the state utilized people’s hard earned money.
In my point of view, there is no point in keeping all the money to themselves and not pay tax to the state. We are part of a country, and state is also one. We should not compromise our accountability as sovereign of a territory.
As we look at the bigger picture, the money we pay for taxes are actually the salary for government employees such as politicians, staff, social workers, and other townhall officials. These people perform their duty in ensuring that we have a well-developed infrastructures and facilities, organized civil records, peaceful areas, and well-fed indigenous people. If we do not pay our taxes responsibly, their source of living might be affected as well.
In addition to that, the needed government supplies also requires to have fundings to make hassle-free transactions. For example, city hall needs to purchase loads of official receipt, papers for certifications, and ink for printing requested documents. It is not possible that the civil workers will use their personal money for that.
Therefore, though there are some factors concerning this issue like political discrepancies, I strongly disagree to the idea that we should not cut-out a little amount for our taxes. Rather, we must be obliged to do so, because if we fail to perform our role as citizen, our state might as well fail to give back the comfort and harmony that we need 24/7.
