It is often true that clients nowadays have a variety of cheap products to buy. While this phenomenon has brought several advantages, it seems to me that its drawbacks are more notable.
Admittedly, the availability of low-priced products is advantageous in many aspects. Initially, people could have several varieties of goods with a wide range of prices, thus they could purchase anything according to their financial status. For example, low-income people from poor countries in Africa and Asia can nowadays easily buy some home utilities at a low cost which was not the case in the past. Moreover, with this observed decrease in price, customers’ purchasing power might be enhanced and they could buy more. Therefore, many people might be able to buy products on a large scale, leading to great prosperity in their country’s economy.
Nevertheless, I believe that the demerits of cheaper goods eclipse any analyzing positives. Firstly, the quality of products might be affected due to the elevated demand. This is own to the fact that many companies will probably start to reduce the quality of their materials to be able to produce the enormous required quantities. Consequently, the customers may lose their trust in these products and their producers. Secondly, due to the excessive purchase of low-quality products, people may commence to throw away useless devices that are not functional. Therefore, much undesirable ecological damage could have happened, causing environmental degradation. What’s more, this waste might contain several exhausts and toxic compounds that might cause a variety of health complications for the citizens.
By way of conclusion, despite the benefits of cheap products in the community, I hold the notion that its downsides outweigh any resulting values.
