It is often stated that people should work for a longer period due to their longer life time in comparison to the past. I totally agree with this perspective of view due to the fact that it is beneficial for countries and their own.
In my opinion, It is completely logical to postpone individuals’ retirement for several years because they can work effectively in workplaces in order to boost companies’ productivity and subsequently improve their country’s economy. The elderly have obtained rich experience through past years in their careers rather than youth and it is completely vital for their country. For instance, Japan, which is a developing country, has implemented some rules related to increasing the age of retirement. In this country, people should work until 60 years old. According to latest reports, this change has been advantageous for its economy and resulted in an increase in Japan’s GPA by 6. 2% in 2023.
Another important point to consider is that the population increasing rate has been negative, which means in the future most of the crowd will be old and automatically old people will comprise the majority of the workforce. Also working for a longer time helps them to be independent. In other words, countries can be unable to fully support their old people due to various reasons, whereas, if senior people have a job, they can make money and it helps them to afford their families’ needs and demands.
To sum up, I would believe that employment in older ages can be useful for both countries’ economy and the old population because of numerous reasons like their experiences and financial independence.
