Today citizens living in large urban metropolises of any country are suffering from various issues in their daily lives. These hinderences can be broadly categorised into two groups psychological problems and health problems. In my opinion, the governments of such countries should introduce programs that motivate people to resettle in less urbanised local cities.
Psychological problems like stress and anxiety are common amongst residents of megacities. Human beings evolved as hunter gatherers living in small communities within a stable ecosystem. Cities today are overcrowded and are in a constant state of flux which overpowers our senses and causes stress and anxiety.
Pollution from cars, factories, and house hold waste is leading cause of many lifestyle and chronic diseases. The Air Quality Index a standard metric used to measure pollution considers a value over 35 as harmful to human beings, most of our major towns consistently exceed this value some even reaching hazardous values of 750 and the primary cause of this are fumes from fossil fuel burning in factories and cars. Most major cities are historical places and were not designed to accommodate such large populations and hence the waste disposal and road networks are unable to smoothly operate leading to constant traffic jams and waste removal problems further exacerbating the issue.
Governments of such nations should launch initiatives that provide incentives to companies to migrate to low population density places thereby, encouraging their workforces to relocate which intern would help not only reduce overcrowding in cities but also provide these resettled employees a better lifestyle.
In conclusion, Although the problems that people face everyday in cities are difficult to solve their are steps that the leadership of a state can take to mitigate the most harmful effects of it.
