In a very fast-developing world, people life has changed rapidly. It is suggested people living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than people who lived in previous centuries. This essay will shed light on why I partly agree this suggestion for several reasons.
On the one hand, people living in the existing century have a better material life than people who lived in previous times. For people who lived in the past, gadgets and high-tech facilities like laptops and high-res TV didn’t exist. Meanwhile, due to the fourth industrial revolution, these facilities are now can be produced with a large quantity and an affordable price, make them more available for people. Therefore, the material life is now improved substantially.
On the other hand, people who lived in the past centuries have a better spiritual life than people living in the 21st century. Nowadays, many people are suffering from studying pressure or working pressure in order to have a highly-paid job, which make them tend not to join in recreational activities. People who lived in the past were completely different, because the studying pressure or working pressure only existed in a minority of people. Hence, past people had a better chance to enjoy their life, make their spiritual life better.
In conclusion, I partly agree the suggestion that people who lived in previous centuries have a worse quality of life than people living in the 21st century. While people now have a better material life, people lived in the past had a better spiritual life.
