Nowadays, some individuals think that studying literature is a time-consuming subject in high school. I totally disagree with this statement. I reckon writing or reading novels and poems could improve crucial skills for students.
Literature is vital in improving significant useful skills for high school students. The main reason why I disagree is that studying literature could help students to develop and improve their reading and writing abilities. For example, when people spend enough time reading, as a result, they could have the ability to read faster and better than those who don’t have that habit. The same thing happens to the writing skill ability. Consequently, the improvement in these skills result in encouraging students to think analytically and critically, which are vital in many aspects of life and work. In doing so many learners prefer to learn languages from literature.
Novels and Poems are a great source of knowledge for students. Additionally, reading literature could enhance vocabulary, comprehension, and the ability to think clearly. For instance, when it comes to learning a foreign language, many people prefer to read books in that language which help them to improve knowledge about learning language. Moreover, literature is a perfect source of inspiration for students. This happened to my friends, he always looks for inspiration in literature such as stories and science books. Another example, many schools have literature classes which often involve discussion and debates, thus helping students to develop their ability to argue a point and listen to others.
In conclusion, there are various significant reasons to study literacy in high school. I highly recommend studying literacy at school due to the fact that it improves useful skills for students.
