Many people believe that it is better to the envirnment if we only buy localy sourced foods. In my opinion, althohg buying food localy is benefitial in numerus ways, we can’t live without imported food and we need to find a good balance of both.
In resent years, climet change has been a topic that is becoming more discussed and is wrorrysom for many people around the world. By increasing the consumption of produce that is sources nearby can help cut down on carbon edmitions and slow down global warming. Ferthermore, localy produced foods can be more fresh, therefor lasting longer in your fridge. It can also be beneffitial to small and local farms and bisnesses.
On the othere hand, eating inported foods can give more options to your diet which many people think is better for the human body and I think that being subjected to a veriety of food will ultimetly subject you to more culters and in some cases even support your cultuer as well. For example, Tofu it a very commen food that is eaten in Japan but the majority of the beans that are used to make it is imported. Also, for some people, especialy for thoes who live in citys’ with a large population, it can be difficult to live off of only local foods due to the scarce amount of farm land.
In short, localy sourced items can be better for the planet and more fresh, imported foods can help us incloud difrent types in to our meals and subject us to verius culters and even help culters live on and halp ereas that have a large populetion. It is important to not just pick one or the other but to have both have a good harmany with both to improve peoples’ lives.
