There is a variety of stressful problems that urban dwellers have to suffer from on a daily basis. This essay will verify various representative problems in metropolitan areas and suggest some productive solutions to overcome those challenges.
Citizens of mega cities are affected by several burning issues. One of the biggest problems is the traffic congestion, especially during rush hours, which is resulted from a large population density in conurbations. The daily commute to work is becoming more and more frustrating to the majority of workers as the number of vehicles in the street is rapidly rising. Another issue that is worth mentioning is the notable condition of pollution in urban areas. The increasing amount of harmful smoke discharged from advanced transport system and industrialized factories is provoking a decline in the air quality, which seriously damages human’s health condition. Due to air pollution, the proportion of individuals getting respiratory diseases in metropolitan areas has been rocketing, regardless of age, and face mask is a required item on a daily basis.
However, these difficulties can be easily addressed by certain solutions. Firstly, the way forward might be to encourage citizens to engage in public transportation. This action diminishes not only the number of vehicles in the streets, accompanied by unhealthy fumes, but also the amount used fuel for private transports. Moreover, a solution for the government is to strictly uplift the range of punishments for businesses violating environmental laws. Since the new exorbitant fine for drunk driving has been announced in Vietnam, residents have faced an impressive downfall in alcoholic drivers which proves the efficiency of policy. Similar to that case, the harsh punishments protecting natural resources may accelerate factories in bringing out appropriate strategies to handle industrialized waste and toxic emissions.
In conclusion, urban residents have faced numerous challenges on a daily basis such as feeling suffocated by the traffic issues and being badly affected by the alarmed condition of pollution. However, dealing with those problems involves promoting the tendency to use public transportation and raising fines for actions contaminating the environment.
