It is presumed that, particulars about politicians’ personal lives must not be published in gazettes, as it infringes the individual rights of a person. I partially agree with the assertion because it is vital to update the public about the corruption and the crimes of the politicians, as it effects the voting of righteous candidates who manifest a better future for the nation.
The primary reason why I believe in the necessity to reveal the perpetrations and offenses to society is; it often strips off the possibility of a very good electoral candidate of his deserved position to make a difference in a tumultuous democracy. To exemplify, In India, often surprise raids are carried out at the houses of infamous chief and home-ministers, that consequentially, gathers the attention of mass-media and all their actions are revealed in the news which often leads to the election of an opposite party with a manifesto to implement better programmes and rules.
Whereas freedom and privacy are absolute fundamental human rights. Family affairs, feuds and sensitive matters are ultimately subjected to individuals; thus, it is necessary to maintain a permeable spreading of information on the issues regarding politicians’ life and some could be stressful to their own minds and furthermore, detrimental. Take family issues or death of a politician, for example, the press and news-reporters are often ignorant towards the devastation of their family causing unnecessary subjugation of vilification.
In conclusion, the reporting of heinous corruption and crimes of a politician should be informed to the public to promote the best authority in the country who makes the nation better, while it is also crucial that sensitive news about them should be limited as I firmly believe that, every individual has the right to privacy despite being in an authoritative position in politics.
