Taking preventative measures is more efficient than finding a cure or treatment for diseases, as it is less costly compared to the latter. However, some people believe prevention is not essential. In my opinion, prevention should be the answer when choosing between cure and prevention because it saves money as well as time, and both are extremely valuable in every aspect of our lives.
People who do not believe in prevention think it is a waste of time and our resources. They do not deem prevention as a necessary course of action. They regard prevention as something that might not be useful in the future and think of it as extra work. Though it is good to be optimistic about our body’s immune system, without proper care, our body can get weak in response to bacterial attacks. So, before it gets too late, we need to take action beforehand.
On the other hand, many people support prevention over cure and treatment. Prevention takes a good amount of time and money, except it is too little when compared to the stress we have to bear when we get sick, not to mention the cost and, in some extreme cases, the unfortunate absence of any cure, for example, cancer. Every year, a lot of people suffer from incurable diseases and lose their lives to them. Their loved ones have to witness their sorrow while feeling helpless themselves.
Prevention might seem useless, but we would regret not taking any preventative actions when we find ourselves without any cure at hand. Thus, not every disease has a cure, but there is prevention for everything.
