It is undeniable that government treat criminals by using different kinds of methods. The most common one is prison, while most individuals argue that that is the best approach to use for punishing bad people, I believe that using that method is not always the best one rather we need to classify criminals and approach them differently.
On the one hand, using prison as punishment could be useful sometimes. People who commit a crime may feel guilty while they are in the prison. For instance, a friend of mine who commit a crime several years ago, spent his life in the prison. These days he has his own company, based on his experience in the prison, he came to conclusion that he should study hard and work on himself by heart to succeed in life. Therefore, sometimes prison might be a good choice for criminals.
On the other hand, we should not always rely on this way due to certain occasions. In many cases, committing a crime among adults is now becoming increasingly common. So, if we try to treat them in the prison, they will be more likely to commit a crime again. The reason is adults who saw different bad situations in the prison will face psychological problems in their life such as depression, anxiety, lack of confidence and so on. Instead, we should classify bad people into categories take Singapore for example, if adults commit a crime in this country instead of sending them to the prison many psychologists work with those people to find a reason why did they commit the crime through approaching different methods. That’s why, in my opinion, we should not think that prison is the best way to treat bad people.
To sum up, although people have different views about punishing people in the prison, I’m on the view that we should not neglect some factors that impact on our young generations in the prison including psychological issues.
