The number of young adults to do procrastinations has worsened. A cause to such problem is an addiction towards online activities as teenagers prefer to doom-scrolling through their phones instead of finishing their responsibilities such as homework and household chores. This can be prevented by parents as well as teachers to give them a screen time limit and replaced those hours with some productive and fun tasks.
One of the main reasons this issue has increased amongst youngsters is the abuse of technology development, as they are more attracted to online life than real life. Younger generations such as Gen Z and Gen Alpha are born in a time where everything has become virtual in almost all fields in their lives, from interaction, education, games, and even work. This may lead them to become addicted with technology and caused them to procrastinate their real tasks for their schools, homes, and other daily basis activities as they are spending most of their time to doom-scrolling through social media platforms or playing virtual games.
A primary solution for this problem can be implemented by the adults around them such as teachers and parents by developing their daily tasks into fun activities to prevent any procrastination. For teachers in school, they may give them homework from a certain subject as a group project which can be done through discussion with their classmates, as this method may result in face-to-face interaction, so they are not bored while working on it because they are not only studying but also humoring and playing with each other. Furthermore, parents at home can also implementing lots of productive and fun household chores by assisting their children with chores, where the parents may play trendy songs while sweeping the floor and their children are mopping it.
In conclusion, procrastination amongst teenagers can be prevented by the adults around them by helping them to understand that real life responsibilities are more interesting than online life and they can maintain their close relationship with these teens.
