Nowadays, individuals are often seen occupied with either their school or office work. Hence, it is justified to take out time for the overall well-being of a person. Many people believe that youngsters have made shopping their favourite way to pass their time. From my standpoint, it is crucial to motivate these young adults to try different recreational activities.
To begin with, the younger generation has associated retail therapy with happiness. Thus, they end up feeling over the moon after making a purchase. However, it is of paramount importance to educate them that certain things should only be done in fixed proportion. Additionally, imparting moral values and teaching them the value of money will aid in the process. Some youngsters spend a large amount on shopping and then are seen crying over spilt milk. A pragmatic measure would be to explain them, that a book should not be judged by its cover. A quintessiantial of minimalism is the Indian superstar, Aamir Khan. Young people should be influenced by him and assimilate the necessity of being authenic than materialistic.
Furthermore, parents and mentors should promote the benefits of a non-sedentary lifestyle. Youngsters can indulge themselves in fitness activites like Zumba, Pilates, yoga and swimming. They can also explore learning sports like cricket, football, chess and badminton. This will also help in their overall development. Moreover, new courses can be learnt online to boost their skills. As per my experience, taking out time to journal every morning along with meditation boosts my mood instantly and prepares me for the day ahead. Additionally, my bi-weekly dance class keeps me physically fit.
The bottom line is an informed decision should be taken while chosing an activity to pass the time. While shopping may look like an lucrative option, one must evaluate all the various options available. Lastly, productive activities act as a fuel for the mind and keeps it running smoothly.
