Some people argue that refurbishment of old buildings requires a huge amount of money from the government budget, while others think this money should be spent on building new houses and roads. In my opinion, while building new facilities can be challenging, I agree that it brings more benefits for both citizens and the government.
On the one hand, building new houses and roads can cause certain difficulties for the government. In many big cities, there is a high density of houses and buildings, making it hard for the government to make space for the new ones. To create a new building or road, the government has to go through more complex building processes with a high level of security. Moreover, these constructions can annoy people living nearby, affecting their daily life and even their mental health. For example, it is hard for people to move and travel around, causing difficulties to go for work or exercise.
On the other hand, I believe that both citizens and the government can benefit much from new houses and roads. Firstly, people can take advantage of better conditions and new facilities, which improves their standard living and happiness. For example, if low- salary workers are provided with new houses, they can reduce the worry about finance and perform better in the workplace. Also, switching old buildings with the new ones helps minimize the risk of health problems such as respiratory. Secondly, constructing new houses and roads means that the government does not need to make several restorations as old buildings and uses these facilities with a longer life span. This helps reduce the spending on maintenance and fixing.
In conclusion, although there are some challenges when constructing new houses and roads, I believe these new facilities bring significant advantages for both citizens and the government.
