In contemporary days, there is a point of debate that increment in university bills and unemployment prospects for academics have led several people to argue that universities should not teach arts subjects and only provide practical degree courses that enables graduates to get job opportunities. Undoubtedly, this notion remains successful in keeping majority of people in it’s favour , however other oppose it. I totally agree with the given statement because scarcity of employment leading towards homelessness and mental issues among students. Moreover, practical education leads in skilled manpower.
To commence with, there are numerous reason why I am in favour. The most prominent one is individual s who have graduated in subject such as: philosophy and history does not have scope to find job, which leading towards economical problem. In contrast, engineering, hotel management, and medicine offers job opportunities with satisfied renumeration. By this, students get motivated towards their studies. For instance, a recent study in the USA revealed that, around 20 % of Arts graduates became homeless and dealing with depression and anxiety. This exemplifies that, subjects which do not provide employment, leads students to suffer from financial and health issues.
Furthermore, practical subjects empowers everyone to do something in their own. They can establish their own business in the related field. For instance, in Canada, students who graduated from Hotel management, started their own business with construction of 50 hotels in Toronto, which resulted in $100,000 revenue, and they offered jobs to 20,000 people. Similarly, in Japan, mechanical engineers invented buses and cars which are run by bio fuels. Therefore, practical degrees results in skilled manpower as well as offers job which benefits in development of national economy.
To sum up, graduating from impractical subjects results in economic and residental problems. Contrastly, practical subjects upgrade in financial condition with increase in skills in graduates, where they can earn money by their own business. Thus, university should offer courses which encompasses chances of employment.
