In recent years, many people believe that educational institutions should add more sport and exercise lessons into their curriculum in order to help students grow up as healthy adults. I completely agree with this idea for the reasons which I will explain below.
Firstly, doing physical activities from a young age has many benefits for children’s body. When students participate in sports at school, they can build strong muscles, improve their heart health, and also reduce the risk of obesity, which is a serious problem in many countries today. For example, in my country, the government reported that the number of overweight children has increased sharply during the past ten years because kids spend too much time sitting in front of screens. If schools provide more PE classes, students will have chance to move their body regularly and stay fit.
Secondly, exercise is not only good for physical health but also for mental development. Playing sports can help children release stress from studying and improve their concentration in other subjects. Moreover, team sports such as football or basketball teach students important skills like teamwork, leadership, and how to deal with lose and win. These skills are very useful for their future life and career. Without enough sport classes, many young people might become lazy and lack of social skills.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that schools should increase sport and exercise classes because it brings a lot of advantages for children both physically and mentally. Governments and schools should invest more in this area to make sure that the next generation grow up as healthy and confident adults.
