Nowadays, with the advancement of technology, schools have the opportunity to use different educational tools like computers, instructional movies and games instead of traditional books which have been used for hundreds of years. However, some people assert that the educational system should not eliminate books. Admittedly, I strongly believe that books should be replaced by computers, films and games at schools owing to some compelling reasons.
To begin with, these alternative tools better impact children’s learning at schools. In this way, children would have more engagement and interaction in learning activities. Simply put, not only do not they get bored but also they will have more fun in class activities. For instance, using games and educational video clips at school can capture children’s attention more effectively and this in turn causes a better learning outcome instead of using books as the only educational tool. That is, by having more interaction and engagement through the use of these digital resources, learning will be more enjoyable and effective for students.
Yet another compelling reason is that replacing these digital tools with books can cause skill development in students. In fact, using computers and playing games result in learning new skills which can not be learnt by books. As an example, playing games can foster some skills like problem-solving and decision-making in people. In addition, by the use of computers in schools, students can learn how to use beneficial applications like Word, Powerpoint and Web browsing which can be useful for them in the future.
To sum up, considering the points discussed above, the most rational conclusion to be drawn is that schools must use these new digital and technological instruments instead of books. This is mainly because they have a better influence on children’s learning and help children develop their skills.
