People tend to lead unhealthy lifestyles, despite guidelines set by science on healthy and unhealthy activities. In this essay, I will show how heavy work pressure contributes to this issue and discuss how government regulations can help resolve it.
The main cause of unhealthy routines is the increasing workload from jobs. Heavy workload often affects our sleep schedule, leading to uncertain sleep timing that in turn impacts other activities such as cooking healthy meals. Consequently, people regularly resort to consuming fast food and instant meals, which can make them lazy and less likely to make time for physical activities. Therefore, I believe that workload is the primary reason for unhealthy habits.
Government bodies should implement regulations to address this situation. For example, restrictions on working hours, no regular overtime, and no work on weekends could provide people with spare time to take care of themselves and eventually lead to a healthier lifestyle. Other measures that could be taken to encourage a healthier lifestyle include raising awareness about the benefits of a healthier lifestyle. This step would motivate individuals to engage in activities that promote good health. Additionally, community counseling for good health, providing green spaces in cities for physical activity, and offering free gym facilities in parks can contribute to a health-conscious society.
To sum up, I believe that the work culture of modern society is to blame for unhealthy habits. By making changes to regulations and taking important steps, governments and communities can guide individuals towards a healthier lifestyle.
