The question of whether shops should stop selling food and drinks that are proven to be bad for health is a topic that many people discuss. While I accept that this rule has some disadvantages, I mostly agree that it brings more good points for society.
There are some reasons why people disagree with this idea. First, everyone should have the right to choose what they want to eat or drink. If the government stops selling these products, it feels like they control people’s personal life too much. Second, many shops earn money from selling snacks, soft drinks and fast food. If these items are banned, small shops may lose customers and have less income. Even so, I believe these problems are not as important as the benefits.
On the other hand, banning unhealthy products is good for public health. Many foods and drinks have too much sugar, salt or fat. Doctors say they cause serious diseases such as obesity, diabetes and heart problems. If people cannot buy them easily, they will choose healthier options. This will also help reduce costs for hospitals and health services. For example, many young people drink too much sweet drinks, which makes them gain weight quickly. Some people say teaching people about healthy eating is enough, but this is not always true. People still buy unhealthy food because it is cheap and easy to find.
In conclusion, although stopping the sale of harmful food and drink may affect business and personal choice, it is still a good decision. It helps improve people’s health and prevents many diseases in the long term.
