Some people believe children should have homework, but others think it is unnecessary. In my opinion, I do not think children should have homework as it causes stress, takes away their free time, and does not help them learn effectively.
Firstly, homework can make children feel tired and stressed. After a long day at school, children need time to relax, play, and spend time with their family. When they are given extra tasks to do at home, it adds to their stress and makes them feel exhausted. This can also lead to a lack of interest in school because children will associate it with negative feelings instead of enjoyment. In fact, overburdening children with homework can even lead to burnout at a young age.
Secondly, many people argue that homework helps children learn better. However, I disagree with this idea. Children already learn enough in school, and giving them extra work at home doesn’t necessarily improve their knowledge. Sometimes, homework is just busy work that doesn’t help them understand the subject better. If children find homework too difficult, it can make them feel frustrated and demotivated, which is counterproductive. Moreover, children might not get the support they need at home, leading to confusion and mistakes.
In conclusion, I believe children should not have homework. It does not improve their learning and only adds unnecessary pressure. Schools should focus on making lessons interesting and engaging so children can learn effectively during school hours and enjoy their time outside of school.
