Nowadays protection of the environment has become an alarming and far concerning issue all over the world. And often these discussions would lead to the same age old question, who should be responsible for the strategic actions to tackle this issue. In this case, I am of the view that the Government ought to manage and develop effective measures to improve the quality of our surroundings because of three major reasons.
On the one hand, people would argue that every individual should be responsible for their surroundings. The main reason is that those who live in a particular area would know their surroundings best and they will be the first ones who notice the changes. Hence, it would be easy for them to understand the issue and act accordingly. Moreover, when it is individual responsibility, people would be more aware and conscious about their doings.
On the other hand , some people argue the Government should take the responsibility. The primary reason is the Government can analyze the concerns in broader perspectives as they can collect data through different means. This would help them to understand the root causes and thereby develop effective solutions. Another significant reason is that the Government can easily provide funds for the projects which would eventually reduce the pressure on common people. However, donating funds for community activities is not always feasible to laymen.
In addition, the Government has the power and authority to implement necessary actions more than any other large companies or individuals itself. The Government can implement laws to reduce the misdeeds towards the environment, which would reduce the concerning causes significantly.
In conclusion, even though people or large companies can help in controlling the environmental problems, the Government has more power and effective ways to analyze the causative factors and overcome the issues.
