Social media carries significant advantages; the most noteworthy one is that social media brings people together. In other words, social networks are the only platforms where people can communicate with each other and see their loved ones through video calls, and it helps to reduce the distance between the two people. For example, I have deep affection for my grandparents; however, I cannot meet them because they live far away from my town, so sometimes I see their faces while video calling.
Furthermore, the majority of the people utilize social media for various purposes; many people preferred to obtain information about the current event because it is more convenient and charge-free. Such as, social media platforms provide current information about any incident in a few minutes or even in an hour; it is better in comparison to newspapers because newspapers take one day to reach consumers places.
Despite the advantages of social networks, it has a few disadvantages; one of them is that social media drives certain crime rates. For instance, I have seen many cases of blackmailing where the female partner shares inappropriate photos with the unknown person who lives in another state and their blackmailing girl to get money.
