There is a prevalent notion that we cannot attain economic welfare and environmental sustainability simultaneausly, while others claim that it is a feasible subjective to develop without harming our mother nature. This essay will examine both perspectives before presenting my personal stance on the controvercial matter.
To begin with, People those who advocate for a prioritized economic well-being claim that attaining better living standards often requires an environmental sacrifice. For example, we cannot conceive our life without electricity which have been mostly generated in coal-fired power plants or cars runs on the by-products of fossil fuels. Emissions from vehicles and factories are considered as the most driving factors behind the severe environmental problems such as air pollution which leads to global warming. However, Those technical advancements have played a pivotal role in reducing unemployement and offered an unprecedented convenience. For instance, many individuals work at technology-oriented sectors for living while digital tools and the forms of transportation allow us to easily communicate and travel. thus, it is inevitable that when we puirsue a better life, we accidentally or delibrately harm the local environment.
Conversely, proponents of the environmental sustainability piont to a sustainable energy to support their hypothesis. If we use more a sustainable practices to generate energy, for instance, through solar panels and wind power plants instead of exploiting natural resources, it will be compatible to maintain the pace of economic development without afflicting the enivronment. As this approach not only offers a safe and cheap energy for factories and individual uses but also offers job opportunities for job seekers.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that a dichotomy between economic progress and enoveronmental protection is fixable issue. Becauese, a relentless pursuit of wealth have often led us to the dicisions which cause a detrimental repercussion for the enivronment. For example, although there is not a severe food shortage in the world, farmers apply chemical fertilizers to enhance productivity to earn more. It is claasic example to explain how we sometimes inflict a danger on the nature just to sustain our materialistic goals. So that unless changing people’s attitude towards the enivronment, we could not acheive any progress.
