Culture is a shared set of beliefs, values, and customs that distinguish nations and define their uniqueness. Nowadays, individuals are assumed to be unconcerned about preserving their deep-rooted traditions. This trend occurred due to a lack of time and modernization. I readily concur that this tendency is harmful for nations.
One reason for this is insufficient time. Because of financial instability and inflation, people have to work long hours. Some of them even work two shifts a day, totaling sixteen hours of work. Thus, they cannot devote enough time to celebration. A Harvard survey is a great indicator of this; it shows that many ordinary people have not attended a ceremony in at least five years. Modernization can be considered another significant cause. Since the explosion of technology, the isolation rate has soared. Humans prefer to be alone and surf the internet rather than participate in conventional traditions, as a result of their addiction to cutting-edge technology. Therefore, festivals are becoming smaller and smaller.
This movement should be observed as a negative development for several reasons. First, cultural identity would be lost if conditions remain as they are. Native people and the next generation will not recognize their long-standing traditions and rich heritage. As a result, cultural diversity will be much lower in the near future. Second, it will weaken family reunions. Family members will not gather and celebrate traditional customs. They would not spend time together, and they will become more isolated. Consequently, it will have a detrimental effect not only on family happiness but also on unity.
In conclusion, people are incurious about protecting their time-honored traditions. This is a negative development, and it has happened because of time limitations and technological advances.
