Prison sentences are often determined by high quality lawyers that have experinces, and they faced many offenses regarding petty crimes, or even violent crimes. Some people think that the rate of crimes should be reduced by imposing penalties or giving a long prison sentence in order to threat criminals. Others believe that punishemnts should not be strict and long, so that the number of criminals decreases. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting a personal opinion.
To begin with, some offenses we can fix it be using better ways rather than harsh punishments and we must not restrict those under dangerous crimes, such as pitty crimes, by imposing penalties that are suitable for these offenses without exacerbating the criminals’ status. On the other hand, for violent crimes and white collar crimes, those should be fixed by searching about the criminal’s background; if it was hard or he is suffering from mental problems we can take it with another perspective. For instance, try to rehabilitate this person and figure out what led him to do this problem.
Moreover, imposing penalties is not the only way to reduce criminals, but also might by the most convenient way. On the other hand, punishing criminals might cause a limited effect on specific kind of people. Nevertheless, we have to instill the idea of crime danger by teaching the younger generation about it, and what probabilities might lead you to do it. For instance, culturing kids that criminal is not a good person, and if we see him we must tell our parents about him. Furthermore, providing courses and awareness-raising campaigns in order to rise a cultured generation.
In conclusion, balancing between strict punishments and how we rise the awareness is crucial, so that we can creat an aware children and reduce the number of criminals without long prison sentence or hard penalties. From my perspective, there are many ways to controll those problems rather than looking for destroying the criminal’s life.
