Some people argue that the best thing to less the crime is punishing them prison longer, while others believe there are more and better option. In this essay I will discuss both sides and give my opinions.
To commence with, most of the people think best way to reduce the some crime government should give them longer prison. If criminals know they will be punished for many years, they might be afraid about break the rules of law. This can stop dangerous people kept in prison longer, they can hurt others in society. For example mafia criminals can a big risk, if they release about it.
On the other hand, some people believe that there are countless ways to reduce crime. For example, government should invest to the schools or university for the people education and job opportunities. When people have job in future, they are always away from illegal things. And also, some people addict the crimes because of they have problems like drug addiction. Helping them with treatment or support can be useful more than put them in jail or just punish.
In my opinion, prison is necessary for serious crimes, but it is not enough. We also need to focus more reduce crime, like a why they commit or find them solutions. Education, support and good life conditions help to less the criminals.
In conclusion, some people believe best way to reduce the crime is give them longer prison, while others prefer different choices. I think both of them are significant, but it is not enough for focusing punishment. Using both side makes society safe.
