It is believed that technological developments and software improvements permit to translate alien languages conveniently, which far outweighs the importance of studying foreign languages. The writer of this essay strongly disagrees with the notion owing to exposure to the new cultures along with high career opportunities.
The current issue is that learning foreign languages enables individuals to acquire new cultures in an efficient way. To put it simply, learners who study foreign languages will easily enrich their knowledge through abroad websites or via communicating with foreigners on many social media such as Twitter and Instagram. As a result, citizens in different countries will learn about cultures and traditions in different countries from web pages and overseas friends to know about the lifestyle and communication of other countries. Taking Vietnam as an example, many Vietnamese students master English in order to gain many foreign informations and get in touch with abroad people to learn about their cultures.
Another core reason is how learning foreign languages is necessary for achieving high job opportunities. In other words, if teenagers study popular languages such as English and Japanese, they will have chances to work for many abroad companies in the future. As a consequence, people who have good abilities in popular languages will open the door to take part in many foreign businesses to put the way for having good salaries and job rewards. For instance, many university students in Vietnam learn English so as to contact with many overseas corporations and get opportunities to work for them.
In conclusion, by connecting with new cultures and having high work chances, people should not rely too much on using technological devices to translate the meanings of languages from other countries.
