In some people’s view government should support musicians and other amateur artists, while others think that it is a waste of money. This essay will discuss both views and focus on the fact that government should provide any kinds of support for independent artists.
Nowadays, the popularity of music and other arts are rising dramatically, such a progress led many countries to economical and cultural development. People have always been interested in entertainment, in the past, theaters and operas were more beloved, but in 21st century many prefer modern music and dances. For instance, in South Korea Korean pop became so popular, that even the government asks for help from entertainment companies, since the artist’s opinions may affect on other people’s choices. That’s why government should pay more attention on developing modern culture more, than focusing on preserving old cultures.
On the other hand, people may think that it is a misuse of funds. The elder generation, who were taught that money should be earned by a hard work only, believe that it is hilarious to rely on your own talent and perform on the streets. Even though there were a lot of talented people date back in 90s, they were forced to hide their abilities and do a «normal» job. The priorities in that time were on the hard work’s side. For example, my grandfather was a great musician, he played on guitar professionally and even had his own music band. But because of the pressure, coming from his relatives and society, he stopped putting effort on «useless things». Things that were done back then are now affecting on innocent and passionate artists.
In my view, government should start noticing small and independent artists and give them a chance to achieve more popularity and start earning money by themselves. That is a huge advantage for them, because those artist will definitely tell their audience about people who were supporting them from the start. In Kazakhstan, there is an artist named Dimash Kudaibergenov. He did not receive any help by local people, so that is why he went to China for a talent show and, fortunately, was admired by Chinese judges and music stars. Even though Dimash was mostly hated by his country’s citizens, he still loves his motherland and during interviews proudly mentions that he is a Kazakh and Kazakhstan became a more recognizable country.
In conclusion, I believe that helping beginner artists will affect positively on our future, since the power they will hold later would impact on every thing, such as people’s minds, companies’ sales and media in overall.
