Band 5+: Some children nowadays take sports seriously while others play sports in their free time. Is this a positive or negative development?

Whereas several youngsters nowadays appreciate taking sports, others play sports in their free time. This trend offers several benefits to individuals and society, yet. it also poses a number of drawbacks that cannot be overlooked.

On the one hand, there are dozens of merits of children nowadays value playing sports, one of which is that it helps them enhance their physical health. To be more specific, when playing sports, player have to move continuously in a particular time, while on a daily basis, this movement is repeated by young people. As a result, children’s bodily health is improved. for example, in 2018, there was a boy named Hieu who was suffered from obese as he only played sports when he had free time, but since Hieu played sports every day and thought that playing sports was important to him, his physical health was developed and he had a fit shape. In addition, playing sports can develop discipline because player have to train consistently and follow a schedule even when they lack motivation or feel tired.

On the other hand, there are a wide range of disadvantages of some youngsters nowadays taking sports seriously. The main one is that it has negative influence on their academic result. In other words, many children play sports too much and ignore studying, leading to drop in study results. for instance, in 2022, a student who took sports too seriously spent too much time on training and competitions, leaving less time for studying, doing homework, and getting enough rest. As a result, they found it difficult to concentrate in class, which negatively affected their academic performance.

In conclusion, while several youngsters nowadays appreciate taking sports allow players to enhance their bodily health, it also causes affection on youngsters’ academic result.
