It is argued that children are more knowledgeable about environmental problems than adults. This essay completely disagrees with this claim because older people have been through a lot of environmental changes in the course of their lives, and also they have the ability of applying this knowledge.
The first reason why I think that grown-ups are more aware of the environmental problems is that they have lived enough to witness some natural disasters and fully understood its consequences on everyone’s life. The long-term issues taught them the importance of environmental conservation and how to deal with such problems to avoid its negative impacts.
The second reason is, holding important information about how we can save nature and resources from damage is not enough. That’s to say that while children have the needed knowledge, they don’t have the ability to apply it. However, adults can practically apply this knowledge easily in effective ways, that can help conserve resources to the next generations. For example, all the organizations that are leading the environmental initiatives are based on adults’ awareness and effort to save the environment from gradual harm and assure that there are enough resources for everyone.
In conclusion, the claim of children being more aware of environmental problems more than older people is totally disagreed in this essay. Because having the information is not enough as much as applying it. Thus in my opinion, grown-ups are the ones who have the real awareness.
