Nowadays, some individuals think that elderly people should live with their children and grandchildren, while others do not share the same opinion and they believe grandparents should live separately. However, the question plays an increasing part in our modern world, and so this debate is very deep.
On the one hand, people think that it would be much better if grandparents live with their younger generation because they are not in good health conditions and they need care from children. For instance, after a long working career, they may get some serious injuries or various illnesses. Thus, their children will take care of them, and if they need any help, their descendants can assist them with any problems because they have a lot of energy and opportunities. As a result, grandparents will feel much more confident, relaxed, and without significant concerns.
By contrast, others often state that elderly people should live separately from their children due to the fact that grandparents may interfere with the life of the youth, and it will have a negative impact on their children’s future. For example, old people can be selfish and grumpy, due to that this creates a huge chance for different conflicts and misunderstandings between the old generation and youth. Hereinafter, this causes may lead to separation.
In conclusion, I think that despite all these factors, old people can live independently because they can find a balance in relationships with their children, and in order to not to disturb the younger generation, they can visit their children on weekends or holidays.
